Silo Cleaning

Bin, Vessel, and Silo Cleaning

Working in a facility where large quantities of dry bulk materials are stored, one is familiar with the flow problems that can be caused by various factors such as heat, moisture, mold, decay, or insect infestations.

These types of flow problems usually start as minor issues with the slow-down of the bulk material flow output. Over time, these unattended minor issues can escalate to a point where the silo is plugged or obstructed, with no bulk material flowing out of the silo. Production output is severely impacted with the necessity of an unplanned emergency shutdown. What can be worse is that the obstruction may be caused by bridging where there is the potential for the plugged material to collapse inside the vessel. Such a collapse can cause structural damage or injuries to nearby employees.

Watercorp’s silo cleanout concept involves build-up removal within the silo without ever needing to enter confined space. Whether through regularly scheduled preventive maintenance or on an emergency-response basis, bulk material flowrate problems can be effectively managed for various storage silos and bins.
